5y102 THERE'S ALWAYS A WOMAN glass slide '38 artwork of sexy Joan Blondell & Melvyn Douglas!

An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More)

There's Always a Woman, the 1938 Alexander Hall romantic murder mystery crime comedy ("There's never a dull moment!"; "A new laugh hit from the studio that gave you 'The Awful Truth'!"; "From the popular American Magazine story by Wilson Collison"; Blondell and Douglas are husband and wife private detectives, and they get involved in solving a murder) starring Joan Blondell ("Radiant as ever... in an exciting romance!"), Melvyn Douglas, Mary Astor, Frances Drake, Jerome Cowan, and Rita Hayworth (in a small role that became much smaller when the film was cut down at the last minute, and she was therefore uncredited!). Note that this movie was intended to be a Columbia Studios version of MGM's highly successful series that started with "The Thin Man". But this movie had only modest success, and there was a single sequel, "There's That Woman Again" the following year, with Virginia Bruce taking over Blondell's role, and then the idea was dropped.

Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: good. There is damage in the bottom black border of the slide caused by water staining, but it does not affect the image (you can't see it in our digital image, because it is in the solid black border below the light blue border at the bottom of the slide). The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. When we auction slides that have a cardboard holder, we provide a separate image of how the cardboard holder looks, but when we auction slides with the black tape (like this one) we only provide the scan of the glass slide image, because that really is about all there is to see.
