An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) George Washington Slept Here (spelled "Geo. Washington Slept Here" on the posters), the 1942 William Keighley romantic city-couple-moves-to-the-country-and-buys-a-money-pit comedy ("Absolutely the funniest thing on film!"; "Jack Benny, the great lover!"; "Jack Benny and Ann Sheridan in the Biggest Warner Bros. Riot"; "From the stage play by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman") starring Jack Benny, Ann Sheridan, Charles Coburn, Percy Kilbride, Hattie McDaniel, William Tracy, Franklin Pangborn, Chester Clute, Isabel Withers, and Harvey Stephens NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster had many small areas of paper loss down the center of the poster, at the crossfolds, and 1" to the left and right of the vertical foldline. There were pen marks on the back of the poster that fell in Sheridan's nose at lower left and there were extra creases across the top and bottom foldlines. There were some creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed about as well as it could have been. You can see slight signs of the above restoration, and there is a fair amount of touch up paint in the white background areas and in the solid parts of the letters of the title and credits that were affected by the above defects, but basically, the poster displays pretty well, and I think few people would at all suspect the extent of the restoration.
