Kukryniksy was actually three artists (Mikhail Kupriyanov, Porfiri Krylov, and Nikolai Sokolov) who went to a Moscow art school together in the 1920s. They became famous in the 1930s for their work with the Moscow satirical paper, Krokodil, and received international recognition for their attacks on Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Heinrich Himmler, Joseph Goebbels, and Francisco Franco. All three were awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1958. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Kukryniksy (see description for more info) Important Added Info: UPDATED 07/04/2014: Note that a knowledgeable collector has provided more information about this poster and we have updated the description accordingly!
