An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) She Loves Me Not, the 1934 Elliot Nugent romantic musical comedy farce ("From the novel by Edward Hope and Play by Howard Lyndsay"; about a dancer who witnesses a murder and has to hide from gangsters by pretending to be a male college student at Princeton, and there is a farcical series of chases involving the gangsters, the students, and the students' parents) starring Bing Crosby, Miriam Hopkins, Kitty Carlisle, Edward J. Nugent (billed as "Edward Nugent"), and Lynne Overman NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: very good. The card had creases, tears, smudges, and areas of paper loss around the edges, with some down the left and right edges of the image area, but little else within the image. The card was nicely restored, and you can see signs of the restoration from close up, but from any reasonable distance, the card displays quite well. The person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance. This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only the border area that is affected).
