An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Peter Graves was an actor from the 1950s to the 2000s. He had a memorable small part in 1955's "Night of the Hunter", where he stole the money that set the entire movie in motion. One of his best film roles was as the traitor in Stalag 17. In 1980, he reinvented himself as a comic actor with his hilarious portrayal of Captain Oveur in Airplane. Some of his other movies include: Sergeant Ryker, and TV's "Mission Impossible" (as Mr. Phelps, replacing Steven Hill). He was the brother of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" fame. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Peter Graves! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who purchased this item years ago, and it was signed, but he doesn't know how the signature was obtained, and he (and we) believe it is likely that the autograph is authentic.
