An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Woman, the 1918 Maurice Tourneur silent romantic multi-episode melodrama ("The Season's Most Unusual Screen Offering"; written by Charles Whittaker; a husband and wife have a fight, and she storms off, and he looks up stories of women who have betrayed their men, starting with Eve, and the movie shows different sequences showing those women; at the end, the woman returns, and the man says that his research showed him that women helped win World War I, and that they should stand equally beside men!) starring Florence Billings (in the title role as The Woman), Ethel Hallor (as Eve), Henry West (as Adam), Flora Revalles (as Messalina), Warren Cook (as The Man), and Paul Clerget (as Claudius) Artist: Burton Rice Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had minor wear on the foldlines and some tiny tears and tiny areas of paper loss on the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking.
