Yellow Canary, the 1943 (released in the U.S. in 1944) Herbert Wilcox English romantic crime thriller ("The yellow canary is a soft yellow thing. That's what you are Paxton... a soft, yellow thing..."; "He had a wife he didn't know, a kid he never saw and a life bouncing crazy like a blue note blowing wild. But the yellow canary could change all that by standing up like a man!"; "Blonde and Beautiful... Despised and Hateful!..."; "What is the hateful secret that makes this beautiful, wealthy girl scorned by women... feared by men? A drama unusual and thrilling explosive in impact!"; "The absorbing drama of a strange secret and the girl whose life it cursed!"; "She's my own sister, but... Someone ought to slap her face... No decent person would be seen with that... Any man who'd kiss her is... She's just an ordinary..."; "If you want to enjoy it, be there at the start. If you want your friends to enjoy it, don't spill the beans."; "Despised by women.. scorned by men.."; "Beautiful, wealthy... and despised! The amazing drama of a girl whose heart cried for tenderness, but was pledged to keep a secret that filled her life with hatred!"; "And hate followed her... death shadowed her... scorn and scandal made her loveliness a curse... because of a secret she dared not whisper!") starring Anna Neagle, Richard Greene, Nova Pilbeam, Albert Lieven, and Lucie Mannheim

Important Added Info: Note that this script is the second continuity draft and the screenplay was written by DeWitt Bodeen! The script was the personal copy of screenwriter DeWitt Bodeen, who had this script professionally bound with a hardcover binding, and he autographed the first page of the script. We are auctioning this script along with three other hard bound scripts that also were Mr. Bodeen's personal copy. Note that Mr. Bodeen was apparently quite proud of the movie version of this script, because he had bound into this book (in the first 12 pages) blank pages which he glued newspaper and magazine articles concerning the movie, and he also had two loose two-page ads from Motion Picture Herald magazine for this movie, which were loosely inserted into the script.

Condition: very good. The hardcovers are scuffed, more so around the edges and on the spine. The interior pages have slightly darkened around the edges, but they are not fragile and are otherwise in nice condition!
