The Folies Bergere is a cabaret music hall established in 1869 in Paris, France. Revues featured extravagant costumes, sets and effects, and often nude women. In 1926, Josephine Baker caused a sensation at the Folies Bergere by dancing in a costume consisting of a skirt made of a string of artificial bananas and little else. It has been the stage for many other famous acts including: Maurice Chevalier, Fernandel, W.C. Fields, Ella Fitzgerald, and many, many more!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a few creases and scuffs in the background areas at the bottom of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
