And I mean it!'"; "There never was a women like Gilda!") starring Rita Hayworth (in the title role "as Gilda"), Glenn Ford, George Macready, Joseph Calleia, Steven Geray, Joe Sawyer, Ludwig Donath, Robert Scott, and Gerald Mohr. Note that the sheath dress that Rita Hayworth wears in the movie (designed by Jean Louis) certainly contributed greatly to the popularity of this movie! Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: good. The card had darkened. It also had a pinhole in the center near the white background area and some pinholes around the edges. It had many smudges, scuffs, and tiny stains scattered throughout the image. Overall, the card was in fair to good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restorer did a pretty good job, but you can see signs of the defects and the restoration, but the card displays fairly well (see our super-sized images to get a good sense of exactly how the card looks now).
