An Undated (probably 1960s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14 3/4" x 19 1/2" [37 x 50 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). Important Added Info: Note that for this 1960s Belgian re-release, the distributor used entirely different art which includes a large image of Alfred Hitchcock (who is not on the first release poster)! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some faint horizontal folds and one vertical fold with minor wear on those foldlines. It had a blank top that was trimmed off. There were some pinholes and tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and the restorer recreated the missing blank top. Learn More about condition grades
