y465b TOBOR THE GREAT half-sheet movie poster '54 funky robot!

An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More)

Tobor the Great, the 1954 Lee Sholem science fiction (sci-fi) robot fantasy thriller ("Man-made monster with Every human emotion"; about a boy who befriends his grandfather's robot and spies are trying to capture it) starring Charles Drake, Karin Booth, Billy Chapin, Taylor Holmes, Steven Geray, Henry Kulky, J. Lewis Smith (in the title role as Tobor), Peter Brocco, Hal Baylor, and Norman Field. Note that many posters show the robot carrying a sexy woman, but that apparently never happens in the movie (he is only seen carrying the boy). In case anyone doubts Hollywood being endlessly creative, note that Tobor's name is "Robot" backwards!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has had a minor amount of professional restoration. There was an oval-shaped area of paper loss in the top of the left blank border (only blank white paper), and a restorer replaced the missing area, and it is only noticeable on the closest of inspection. The restorer also did some other minor touch up to the blank borders, repairing some tiny tears and covering some minor smudges. The image area of the poster was in great condition (except for extremely minor creases), and no restoration was done in the image area. I can't imagine a collector who would not be extremely happy with this great poster! Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most half-sheet posters were folded once horizontally and once vertically right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded copy of most half-sheets, especially from before 1970!

Condition: very good.
