If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we only know of one other example of this poster that has been put up for auction. That poster had massive restoration, and it did not sell. THIS poster was purchased by our consignor at a Butterfield's auction in 1998, and it is the only other time we know of a 1933 King Kong insert being offered at auction (aside from the massively restored one that did not sell), and it has remained in our consignor's collection until the present time, and we are now offering it. It may be another 15 years (or more) before another example is offered! Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster was folded across the middle only and had minor wear on that foldline. It had some small tears and tiny pinholes around the edges, with a few tiny pinholes scattered in the image, including two in Fay Wray's legs, one in the top of the "G" of "KING", and one in the middle right of the "K" of "KONG". Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was nicely backed (the restorer painted over the blank portions of the borders, to "even them out"), and displays well. At some point after it was backed, something happened that caused tiny surface paper loss in two places at the bottom of the right blank border (see our image). Any restorer could easily touch that up without re-backing the poster. The poster displays wonderfully and will look fantastic on the new owner's wall! Note that the poster was once museum framed and there is a piece of conservation tape on the back of each of the top corners. Learn More about condition grades
