An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29 1/4" x 43 1/4" [74 x 110 cm]) (Learn More) The Vampire Bat, the 1933 Frank R. Strayer horror murder mystery thriller ("Do human vampires really exist?"; set in an unnamed European country, about a mad scientist who needs living human tissue to conduct his wacky experiments, and he makes it look like vampires are killing the people who he has killed by leaving puncture marks on their necks and draining their blood) starring Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, Melvyn Douglas, Maude Eburne, George E. Stone, and Dwight Frye NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster has unusual uneven darkening (part of it is a thin vertical area down the upper left of the poster that goes through the "V" of "VAMPIRO" in the title). We don't know if this was a printing defect, or an acquired defect through how it was displayed, but it is clearly noticeable when you look at the poster. Also, the poster's vertical fold was 3" to the right of center and it had tiny paper loss near the middle of each horizontal fold, with pinholes, tears, and darkening around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, and the restorer did not attempt to address the uneven darkening.
