Enlist in the Navy, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) recruitment poster encouraging people to enlist in the U.S. Navy, and featuring Henry Reuterdahl, U.S.N.R.F. art of an American sailor among sailors from five other countries (Japan, France, Australia, Russia, and Mexico). Of course, it is interesting that just 24 years later, the U.S. would be attacked by Japan, which at this point was their ally! Artist: Henry Reuterdahl, U.S.N.R.F. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable group of around 100 guaranteed authentic mostly war posters (around 75 war posters, plus 25 others, including political ones) mostly dating from before 1900 through 1945, with 15 from after that date! These were originally acquired by an archive decades ago, and they have been in storage ever since, until they were recently consigned to us. Many of these are the sorts of posters that you can find reproductions of on the Internet, but finding guaranteed originals like these is incredibly difficult (years can go by before these are offered for sale or at auction). This is a very rare opportunity to purchase any of these more than 100 posters! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster was folded down the middle. It had many creases and tears around the edges. There were two tears in the top left corner that almost completely separated that corner, and it extends into the "AL" of "ALL". There is a tear on the right that extends into the second "E". There are some creases scattered throughout the poster. Someone put paper tape on the back of all the borders to reinforce them. Any talented restorer could remove the tape from the back of the poster and linenback it, but bear this in mind before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
