If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 1946 re-release French poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie (and it looks almost exactly the same as the original, except that it doesn't have the Paris Film logo that the first release has)! Also note that French posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are! Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in France, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare French poster from 1946. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had smudges, scuffs, and ink transfer scattered in all the light colored areas and in the back of Gabin's head. It had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
