Robertson silent rich-man-vs-poor-squatters romantic melodrama ("From the novel by Grace Miller White by Arrangement with Adolph Zukor"; about a wealthy man who builds a fancy house on top of a hill, and a group of poor people live at the bottom of the hill, and one of the poor people is a beautiful young lady, and she must fend off the rough men who desire her, while falling in love with the rich man's son and caring for the rich man's illegitimate daughter) starring Mary Pickford (in the title role as Tessibel 'Tess' Skinner), Lloyd Hughes, Gloria Hope, David Torrence, and Forrest Robinson. Note that the novel this movie was based on was written in 1909. In 1914, Mary Pickford starred in an adaptation of the book that was pretty faithful to it. In this movie, a remake from eight years later, the plot of the movie was changed from that of the source novel, no doubt to make it better fit now major star Mary Pickford! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
