An Original Vintage Exhibitor Magazine (measures 11 1/4" x 14" [29 x 36 cm]; 16 pages) (Learn More) Columbia Showman, the monthly exhibitor magazine published by Columbia Pictures and sent to theaters to try to get them to exhibit their latest pictures, and each issue had illustrated stories about the latest Columbia releases, and about the stars and directors of those releases. The magazine was published in the 1930s (at least), but issues of it are so incredibly rare, that we don't know how long it was published, or starting or ending years. It seems that this magazine started out in the early 1930s as Columbia Showman, and in 1935, the title changed to Columbia Mirror, but there may have been a gap between the two publications, and it may be that they are not connected, but that seems very unlikely. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one issue of this exhibitor magazine (although we have auctioned issues of Columbia Mirror, which is what this magazine evolved into)! Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and also pictures of one or more interior two-page spreads (but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine. Please realize that sometimes there were only a few ads in each magazine, and sometimes quite a few, but that often the bulk of each magazine is taken up by stories about current productions and other information of interest to theater owners (and I don't know that this information can be found anywhere else or that it has been reproduced in any book since its first publication!). Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: fair to good. There is small paper loss and tears at the top center of all the pages, but fortunately, it has only a slight effect on any of the stories or images.
