What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded. It had a vertical scuff with surface paper loss at the bottom of it, in the top center of the face in the top of the image (running from the mouth to the bottom of that face). It also had some tiny dots of surface paper loss (they are difficult to see, because there are many dots that were part of the printing). There was a 3" tear in the left of the bottom border. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
