Note that The March of Time people claim that this documentary contained footage that was seized from a Nazi ship en route to South America, and that it had been shown to "Norway, Denmark, Holland, and Belgium to scare them into making way for his Blitzkrieg". They promoted it by saying "Can Hitler cast his shadow over our liberty", adding "he thinks he can... see his own film". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of 11 lots of photos that come from a wonderful collection of photos (most measure 3.5x5.25, but some measure slightly smaller) that were taken by a man who worked at a large movie theater in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He created wonderful theater fronts and homemade posters (some that were displayed outside the theater and some inside the theater), and after he finished making his displays, he would take a picture of each and then he put them in a scrapbook. We are offering eleven sets (in eleven separate auctions) of between two and five photos each from the same scrapbook (sadly we are now at the end of these, and there will be no more of these photos, except for a very few stragglers that will be sold in a couple of bulk lots!) It is very rare to find photos of original theater fronts and local theater displays from this time period! Condition: very good. The photos were stapled to an album page, and there are staple holes in the corners with light rust stains. They are otherwise in nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
