An Autographed Cut Lined Paper Matted with a REPRODUCTION (entire display measures 12" x 16" [30 x 41 cm]) (Learn More) Ruth Gordon was born in 1896. What a full life she had! She started as a stage actress at the age of 19, and continued there for 24 years. In 1940 she had a memorable movie role (her first real one, at the age of 44) in Abe Lincoln of Illinois as Mary Todd Lincoln, and she appeared in a handful of other movies, and then stopped making movies again, to return to stage acting also becoming a playwright! In 1942 she married 16 years younger screenwriter Garson Kanin, and the two began writing screenplays together, most notably two for Tracy and Hepburn (Pat and Mike and Adam's Rib). After decades away from the screen, she made some TV appearances, and then (in her 70s) she had memorable roles which included: Inside Daisy Clover (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Rosemary's Baby (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Harold and Maude (the cult classic, where she found true love with "teenager" Bud Cort!), and Where's Poppa? She passed away in 1985 at the age of 88. Important Added Info: This cut lined paper has been personally autographed (signed) by Ruth Gordon! It was nicely matted with a REPRODUCTION still, and it is ready to be framed and displayed! Our consignor purchased this matted signature from well known autograph collector/dealer Keith Hurd of Ohio, who has collected for over 50 years and has been selling at shows, including Chiller Theatre, for decades. He has no certificate of authenticity, but we feel certain this autograph is authentic. Condition: very good to fine. The matted photo was placed into a plastic bag, which was taped shut on the back and has a label with the star's name on the front of the top left corner of the plastic bag. This can be easily removed, and then the matted display can be easily put in a standard frame, but we left it in the plastic bag so that it will be better protected while it is on its way to its new owner! Since we photographed it through the plastic bag, this somewhat obscures the image, but the entire display is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
