Date Sold 8/24/2014 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 11 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) The Illustrated Man, the 1969 Jack Smight tattoo body art science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("Don't dare stare at The Illustrated Man."; "From Ray Bradbury's masterpiece of the supernatural!"; based on the book by Ray Bradbury; about a psychotic drifter who is searching for the woman who tattooed his entire body!) starring Rod Steiger (in the title role as Carl, the Illustrated Man), Claire Bloom, Robert Drivas, Don Dubbins, and Jason Evers NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 11 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So they are original stills from 1969, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
