If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "pre-War" Belgian poster. Prior to World War II, Belgian posters were much larger than the ones from after the war, and they are extremely rare (because during WWII, there was a massive paper shortage in Belgium, and they took virtually every poster and map, and printed new posters on the backs of them!). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a large snipe attached to the top that not only covered the top blank area, but also extended past it (this was not unusual and we have seen other pre-War Belgians with similar large snipes). The added snipe makes the poster measure larger than other pre-War Belgians that do not have an added snipe). It also had creases and scuffs on parts of some foldlines and pinholes around the edges. There was a 1" vertical tear in the right of the "N" of Sidney's credit. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
