Date Sold 11/23/2014Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 18 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Sign of Aquarius (also released as "Love Commune"; released in a re-cut version in 1972 as "Ghetto Freaks"), the 1970 Robert J. Emery marijuana marihuana pot weed drug musical sexploitation 'n drugs hippie rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music melodrama ("They lived for the night ...and tripped till dawn!"; "Fifteen hot blooded hot tempered young drop-outs living together in one room!"; "When the moon is in the communal house of love... A shocking tribal ritual will take you higher than you've ever been before!"; "Nowhere to go except here"; "Avant-Garde of the TRIBAL ROCK FLICK"; "Revolution mother"; "The Soul Mate of HAIR"; "Every white society chick wanted to join his soul family to get in on the integrated action...!"; obviously this movie was an attempt to cash in on the immense popularity of the stage play, "Hair"!) starring Paul Elliot, Micky Schiff, Gabe Lewis, Toni Cleo, and Jim Coursar. Note that the art style one-sheet poster shows a topless girl with body paint over her chest and belly, and has an image of a man smoking a marijuana cigarette (and the man bears a striking resemblance to Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead)! Note that a clever producer bought the rights to this 1970 movie, re-cut it, and turned it into "Ghetto Freaks" and gave it a new release in 1972, with no reference to its earlier incarnation. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 18 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that this auction also includes the envelope this item originally came with!
