Marshall Date Sold 9/22/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 7 Original Vintage Theatrical Color 8" x 10" Movie Stills (Learn More) The Journey, the 1958 Anatole Litvak romantic military melodrama ("Iron-hard Man... Velvet-soft Woman... Which one will yield?"; set in 1956 Budapest, Hungary, sort of an updated version of 'Casablanca') starring Deborah Kerr, Yul Brynner, Robert Morley, E.G. Marshall, Kurt Kasznar, David Kossoff, Marie Daems, and Jason Robards Jr. (billed as "introducing Jason Robards, Jr.") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that although these stills were "printed in Great Britain", they have full NSS information. Perhaps they were intended to be used in both countries (we have heard from collectors who saw these color stills in U.S. theaters at the time the movies were released, but we have not heard from any English collectors as to whether they were used in England at that time). If any English collector knows if these were or were not used in English theaters when the movies were released, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that the items in this lot are from the 1970s to the 1980s. All of them have a snipe that folds over the bottom of the still and it is lightly glued to the back, which was done by the studio when the stills were made (and each snipe gives much information about the still). They come to us from a man who worked for a newspaper during those years, and he saw that the newspaper did not want the stills after using them, so he asked if he could have them, and he has saved them over all these years and is offering them now! Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
