An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More)

Front Page, the classic 1931 Lewis Milestone (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) newspaper journalism comedy (nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; produced by Howard Hughes; written by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur; later remade as "His Girl Friday" with Rosalind Russell playing one of the leads, which was originally a male part!) starring Adolphe Menjou (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Pat O'Brien, Mae Clarke, Mary Brian, Edward Everett Horton, Walter Catlett, George E. Stone, and Slim Summerville. Note that this movie was remade in 1940 with the changed title "His Girl Friday" (the title change was necessary because of the brilliant change in casting of having a woman play one of the lead roles!). It was directed by Howard Hawks, with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell in the lead roles.

Important Added Info: Note that this still is unlike almost all key book stills we have ever seen (we had two like it from "Flesh and the Devil", and some collectors have told us they have seen a few like them as well)! Not only does it have an image of nine great still images joined together, but it also has full credits and a complete plot summary printed on the back! It is glued to a linen-like backing (it originally had an extra 1" on the left with two punch holes, but that area was trimmed away). Apparently this was something that was done beginning in 1925, and we had thought that it was a very brief experiment, but now we have seen another one from 1936, so we know it continued for at least ten years, but they are really incredibly rare and really cool!

Condition: very good. There was an extra 1" at left that was neatly trimmed off (see above). There are some tiny marks in the right blank border.
