Cline & Ray Hunt silent slapstick comedy short (a parody of the famous novel by Harriet Beecher Stowe, which raised awareness of the outrageous treatment of African American slaves in the American South and helped bring about the Civil War; produced by Mack Sennett) starring Ben Turpin (in the title role as Uncle Tom), Heinie Conklin (billed under his real name of "Charles Conklin"; as Simon Legree), Marie Prevost, Ford Sterling, Eva Thatcher, and James Finlayson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
