eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result #121 IN OLD KENTUCKY glass slide '35 Rogers Date Sold 2/19/2002Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Original Vintage Theatrical Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) In Old Kentucky, the 1919 Marshall Neilan silent Ku Klux Klan-like horse racing sports gambling romantic melodrama ("Queen Bess Wins"; "Her heart beat faster, She couldn't detain the night riders much longer."; "Falling into the hands of the man who slew her father and plotted to kill her love, she battles for life.") starring Anita Stewart, Edward Connelly, Mahlon Hamilton, Edward Coxen, Charles Arling, Adele Farrington, Marcia Manon, Frank Duffy, and John Currie. Note that one lobby card shows men on horseback wearing white hoods. While they may appear to be Ku Klux Klan members, these were Night Riders, a terrorist faction of Kentucky & Tennessee tobacco farmers during a popular resistance to the monopolistic practices of the American Tobacco Company. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. Both the cardboard holder and the glass slide itself are in wonderful condition!. This glass slide is one of a collection of 6 glass slides from films of one of the all-time great movie stars, Will Rogers! It would be next-to-impossible to find all six of these glass slides again! Be sure to look at the other 5 Will Rogers glass slides eMoviePoster is selling this week on eBay! Learn More about condition grades
