(Learn More) The Man Who Could Work Miracles, the classic 1936 (released in the U.S. in 1937) Lothar Mendes English science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy comedy ("From a Mouse to a Miracle Man!"; "Let's go nuts at a picture you'll be nuts about!"; "The season's most unusual comedy with the year's loudest laughs! Roland Young, the grand comedian of 'One Rainy Afternoon' and 'Ruggles of Red Gap', has saved his most irresistible acting for this role of a timid, mousey clerk who turned into a man of might and miracles... until he himself cried for help!"; "H.G. Wells' Comedy"; produced by Alexander Korda; based on the novel by H.G. Wells; about a meek English shop assistant who is chosen by three gods who are arguing to be given unlimited power to see what he will do with it; he surprises them by trying to make the world perfect, but everything he wishes for works out wrong and in frustration, he wishes for the Earth to stop moving, which starts hurling everything off of the Earth's surface, but he has just enough time to wish for everything to be undone) starring Roland Young, Joan Gardner, Ralph Richardson, Edward Chapman, Ernest Thesiger, Sophie Stewart, and George Sanders (in one of his very earliest minor roles, as one of the three gods!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. There is light staining on both covers, but otherwise, the pressbook is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
