An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Roosevelt "Rosey" Grier is a former professional football player, actor, singer, and minister from the 1950s to the present. As a professional football player, Grier was a member of the New York Giants and the original Fearsome Foursome of the Los Angeles Rams. After Grier's professional sports career, he worked as a bodyguard for Senator Robert Kennedy during the 1968 presidential campaign (he was guarding Ethel Kennedy when Senator Kennedy was shot). Although unable to prevent the assassination, Grier took control of the gun and subdued the shooter, Sirhan Sirhan. Grier hosted his own Los Angeles television show and made approximately 70 guest appearances on various shows during the 1960s and 1970s. He became an ordained Protestant minister in 1983 and travels as an inspirational speaker. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Rosey Grier! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall!
