An Original 1961 (from the first release of this movie in Russia) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Russian Movie Poster (measures 26" x 39" [66 x 99 cm]) (Learn More) Otelo, the 1960 (released in the U.S. in 1964) Vakhtang Chabukiani Georgian musical romantic melodrama (based on the play by William Shakespeare) starring Vakhtang Chabukiani (in the title role as Othello), Vera Tsignadze, Zura Kikaleishvili, Liana Mitaishvili, and Eteri Chabukiani Artist: Kononov Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded. It had some small tears in the borders and an unevenness to the light colored background area that may have been how the poster was printed. There were many tiny scuffs scattered in the rest of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but at some point after backing, it was roughly handled (or damaged in a mailing tube) and there are now a great number of creases down the left 1 1/2", mostly in the excess linen, but affecting the left 1/2" of the poster. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored! Learn More about condition grades
