An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Photobusta Movie Poster (pbusta; measures 19 1/2" x 27 1/2" [50 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) Tarzan's Greatest Adventure, the 1959 John Guillermin English jungle action adventure thriller ("At last! Actually filmed in the savage African jungle!"; "Dynamic action"; "stark realism!"; "New Tarzan thrills!"; "Adventure's mightiest hero lives his mightiest adventure!"; "Tarzan's Newest is Tarzan's Greatest Adventure, Actually filmed in Africa!"; "Paramount's first Tarzan adventure filmed in Africa - in glorious color"; "Based upon the characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs") starring Gordon Scott (in the title role as Tarzan), Anthony Quayle, Sara Shane, Niall MacGinnis, Sean Connery (5th billed, in an early role, but after he had starred in "Another Time, Another Place" and "Darby O'Gill and the Little People"), and Scilla Gabel NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a classic case of a "dead" image (because there is no Tarzan) that later proves to be quite collectible, because it shows Sean Connery in one of his first roles, and where he was fifth billed, so he was likely not pictured on any posters. When Connery became famous a short time later for his James Bond movies, this movie was re-released in Italy and now he was second billed! Note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was folded across the middle and had many creases, tiny tears, and a few tiny bits of paper loss in that area, with some pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss in the borders, with some scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
