An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Leon Errol was an Australian actor from the 1920s to the 1950s. You probably solely know of him as a comedy actor of the 1920s on, but he had a substantial life prior to that! He was born in New South Wales in 1881, and studied medicine at the University of Sydney, but while at school, he caught the acting bug, and instead began touring Australia, New Zealand, and Great Britain, doing all sorts of acting, including Shakespeare! He first went to the U.S. in 1898, but did not move there until 1908. He was in the Ziegfeld Follies in 1911 and was a major Broadway star before moving to Hollywood in the beginning of the 1920s. Some of his movies include: Never Give a Sucker an Even Break, The Great Ziegfeld, and We're Not Dressing. He passed away in 1951 at the age of 70. Condition: very good.
