An Original Vintage Autographed Paperbacked Special Poster (measures 15" x 23") (Learn More) 1st National Hookers Convention, the 1974 special poster advertising for the 1st National Hookers Convention that was held at the Glide Church by Taylor and Eddy on June 26th ("Our convention is different. We want everybody to come"). The poster has a copyright by Margo St. James, who was the founder of C.O.Y.O.T.E. (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics), and she was a champion of the rights of prostitutes. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that because this poster contains an extremely sexual artwork image, we have placed a large white box over that area, for those who are bothered by such images (if one wants to see the image, one can find it quickly by searching the Internet). We did not make it a box, and left it with an irregular right border, so that the autographs would not be obscured. Of course, the actual poster does not have that white area! Also note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by three people whose names are difficult to read, but we imagine they are hookers who attended this convention (if anyone knows exactly who signed it or more about them, please e-mail us and we will post it here). Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we think it would almost certainly damage it, so we will only send it in a large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had pinholes in the corners and smudges, faint stains and creases around the edges. There were a few smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. It appears that someone hand wrote 1974 after the copyright at the bottom left (no doubt to identify when the poster was from. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
