An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Christopher Bean (also released as "Her Sweetheart [Christopher Bean]"), the 1933 Sam Wood romantic comedy (based on the play by Sidney Howard; about the longtime maid of a small town doctor and his family, and the maid owns a painting by a local man, and after his death, his paintings are worth a fortune, but she refuses to sell it, even though it would greatly improve her life) starring Marie Dressler, Lionel Barrymore, Helen Mack, Beulah Bondi, and Jean Hersholt. Note that this movie was Marie Dressler's final role, as she died of cancer right after the making of the movie, thus bringing a premature end to the illustrious career of one of Hollywood's most unlikely leading ladies. Finally, note that MGM probably rightfully feared that moviegoers would not know what a movie called "Christopher Bean" was about, and so they also released it as "Her Sweetheart", with a small "Christopher Bean" in parentheses under it, which certainly was a much more commercial title!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never previously auctioned this style of window card with the alternate title (we auctioned one with the other title one time). Both are surely extremely rare. Note also that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded.

Condition: very good to fine.
