An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Desert Vengeance, the 1931 Louis King romantic cowboy western melodrama ("The screen's greatest outdoor star in a breath-taking all dialog western!"; this was unusual for Buck Jones, because he does not play a hero!; rather he is an outlaw who gets swindled by a husband and wife team who pose as brother and sister, and when he discovers what they did, he virtually imprisons them, and treats them terribly!) starring Buck Jones ("The screen's greatest outdoor star!"), Barbara Bedford, Douglas Gilmore, Edward Brady, Albert J. Smith, Bob Fleming, and Slim Whitaker. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. We are also currently auctioning a different style half-sheet, which we have also never before auctioned, in a separate auction! Also note that this half-sheet is separating on the folds, and it makes more sense to send it folded in a standard flat package. Condition: good. The poster has wear on the folds and pinholes, small tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges and a few small tape repairs on the back of the borders. There is some light water staining on the back of the center of the poster that doesn't show through very much to the front. The half-sheet is separating on the folds, with a small amount of brown paper tape on the back of parts of the folds.
