A 1979 Re-Release (see below) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Saturday Night Fever, the classic 1977 John Badham New York City romantic musical disco dancing melodrama ("Where do you go when the record is over..."; "Saturday Night Fever ...Catch it."; "Original music written and performed by the Bee Gees"; about men in their early 20s whose life revolves around going to discos on Saturday night and spending their entire paycheck) starring John Travolta (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Tony Manero), Karen Lynn Gorney (as Stephanie; billed as "Karen Gorney"), Barry Miller (as Bobby C.), Joseph Cali (as Joey), Paul Pape (as Double J.), Donna Pescow (as Annette), Martin Shakar (as Frank Jr.), Nina Hansen (as the grandmother), and Val Bisoglio (as Frank Sr.) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was specifically created because Paramount edited the racier parts of the movie, and issued a PG-rated version in 1979, and created this poster for that release with the tagline, "IT IS NOW RATED PG Because we want everyone to see John Travolta's performance... Because we want everyone to hear the #1 group in the country, the Bee Gees... Because we want everyone to catch 'Saturday Night Fever'." Paramount wanted to release the PG-rated version in 1978 when the R-rated version was still in continuous first release, but the MPAA would not allow the two different versions to be shown in U.S. theaters at the same time, so Paramount pulled the R-rated version and waited the required 90 days before releasing the PG-rated version in 1979. While technically a 1979 re-release because of the 90 days waiting period, many consider it to be part of the continuous first release. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had pretty minor fold wear.
