An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel Movie Poster (measures approximately 47" x 63") (Learn More) Metempsyco (released in the U.S. in 1966 as "Tomb of Torture"), the 1963 Antonio Boccaci (billed as "William Grace" and "A. Kristye") Italian horror thriller ("Born murdered! Prey to the creatures from the grave... creatures who kill again, again, and again") starring Annie Alberti (billed as "Annie Albert"), Adriano Micantoni (billed as "Thony Maky"), Marco Mariani (billed as "Mark Marian"), Flora Carosello (billed as "Elizabeth Queen"), Bernared Blay, Antonio Boccaci, and Emy Eco. It was not uncommon for actors with foreign sounding names to be billed with American sounding names, in order to try to trick the American audiences for the movie into thinking they are going to see an American movie made in English, rather than a non-U.S. movie poorly dubbed in English! This explains why all of the actors' and the director's name from this Italian movie were changed for the U.S. advertising paper. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this French one-panel measures approximately 47" x 63" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had small holes at the crossfolds and some creases and tears on some foldlines. There were minor border defects including pinholes around the edges. At some point after being linenbacked, the poster was roughly handled and there are some creases in the linen on the left and right sides just slightly extending into the edge of the blank border of the poster in the top left corner, but this would greatly diminish if the poster we laid flat under weight and none of the creases would show if the poster was framed.
