eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result BALKAN POWDER KEG 1sh '44 Lease from Hershenson/Allen ArchiveAn Original Vintage One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More) The World in Action Presents The Balkan Powder Keg, the 1944 Stuart Legg Canadian World War II (WWII) military documentary (presented by "The World in Action") featuring King Peter II of Yugoslavia. Note that "The World in Action" was a series of propaganda films created during World War II, and distributed to movie theaters by United Artists. We have had posters from five of these, but there may have been a few (or many) more. Each of the movies was designed to increase patriotism among the Allies. The five posters from this series we have had are "The Balkan Powder Keg", "The Invasion of North Africa", "New Soldiers Are Tough", "Our Russian Ally" (ironic, because just a few short years later, Russia would become our number one enemy!), and "The Mask of Nippon" (a virulently anti-Japanese movie). If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
