Appears in Vintage Hollywood Posters 6 CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. 4 Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Door Panel Movie Posters (measure 20" x 60") (Learn More) Cool Hand Luke, the classic 1967 Stuart Rosenberg prison escape crime thriller ("The man... and the motion picture that simply do not conform."; "What we have here is a failure to communicate."; "It looks like Luke is communicating real good- with women... with men... like with just about everybody!"; "'Hell - that Luke is a real world-shaker!'"; about a hard headed inmate) starring Paul Newman ("Paul Newman just bugs the establishment as Cool Hand Luke"; nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role "as Cool Hand Luke", Lucas Jackson), George Kennedy (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Dragline), J.D. Cannon (as Society Red), Jo Van Fleet (as Arletta, Luke's mother), Robert Drivas (as Loudmouth Steve), Lou Antonio (as Koko), Strother Martin (as "Captain", the warden of the prison), Dennis Hopper (as Babalugats), Clifton James (as Carr), Wayne Rogers (as Gambler), Harry Dean Stanton (as Tramp), Morgan Woodward (as Boss Godfrey, "the man with no eyes", who has no dialogue at all, but who plays a very significant role), Joy Harmon (as "Lucille", the sexy girl washing the car), Cyril 'Chips' Robinson (as the black African American boy who helps Paul Newman escape), Jan Watson, and Susanne Benton (Watson and Benton only appear in the photo that Luke sends to the inmates of the prison to cheer them up!) The posters are linenbacked; prior to restoration the door panels have been folded once vertically and twice horizontally; three of the panels were in really excellent condition prior to backing, and they required just very light restoration on some foldlines; the panel with the image of Newman being whipped had small paper loss in the part of the vertical foldline that runs through the title and a little heavier wear on the vertical foldline than do the other three panels; this panel was expertly restored; you can see traces of the restoration from very close up, but it disappears from any distance away; Overall, the four door panels have little restoration and look wonderful, and I can't imagine any collector who would not be happy to display them in their home!
