An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese Movie Poster (measures 12 1/4" x 27 1/2" [31 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) Resurrection, the 1927 Edwin Carewe silent Russia romantic crime epic melodrama (based on the novel "by Count Leo Tolstoy"; about a country girl being seduced and then abandoned by a prince, who then discovers later that she committed murder because of what he did to her; she is sentenced to Siberia, and he realizes that her life turned out as it did because of him, so he follows her to Siberia) starring Rod La Rocque, Dolores Del Rio, Marc MacDermott, Rita Carewe, and Lucy Beaumont. Note that this classic novel by Tolstoy had been filmed three times before this in the U.S., and was filmed again in 1931 and in 1934! Also note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Japanese posters from any pre-World War II movies are beyond rare, and ones from silent movies are even rarer than that. Condition: good to very good. The poster has a metal bar along the upper edge to assist with hanging (see our image). It has discoloration at upper right and along smaller portions of the right edge and at lower right.
