A Vintage Softcover Book (measures 10 1/4" x 14" [26 x 36 cm]; 200 pages) (Learn More) Album de Cinelandia (literally translates to "Album of Cinelandia"), the 1928 Lucio A. Villegas illustrated Spanish-language movie book featuring biographies and images of lots of Hollywood stars, each of which get a full-page image with a biography on the facing page, including: Clara Bow, Lon Chaney Sr., Charlie Chaplin, Gary Cooper, Douglas Fairbanks Sr., W.C. Fields, Greta Garbo, Al Jolson, Buster Keaton, Tom Mix, Norma Shearer, Conrad Veidt, Lillian Gish, and many more! Interestingly, all the photographs have a photographer's credit, and they are by the top names in Hollywood at the time. Note that this was published in Hollywood, but is entirely in Spanish! Obviously, it was created for the substantial Latino population in Los Angeles, which was large in 1928, and is even larger today! It's really amazing that just about everyone who was a giant star in 1928 STAYED a giant star well into the 1930s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
