An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! There is a 3/4" semi-circular area of paper loss in the edge of Kelly's hair at upper center and there are some small tears and creases in the area of Kelly's hair that have been repaired with large pieces of white tape from the back of the poster. There are some 4" and smaller tears left and right of the bottom crossfold as well as some around the edges of the poster (again, repaired with tape from the back). There are some old tape repairs on the back of the poster around the edges that now bleed through to the front. While this poster has many defects, it is the sort of poster that will response well to professional restoration, and after linenbacking by a talented professional. Learn More about condition grades
