An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Silk Stockings, the 1957 Rouben Mamoulian romantic love triangle musical comedy ("Suggested by 'Ninotchka' by Melchior Lengyel"; with "Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter"; "Big, Bouncy and Beautiful on the Big Screen!"; "It's got that hot beat in top-hat and tails.... 'The Ritz Roll and Rock'"; "The song sensation that's all excitement and enticement... 'Satin and Silk'"; "The gay life in the city of romance sun in 'Paris Loves Lovers'"; "High jinx and hilarity set to Russky rhythm in 'Hail Bibinski' and more"; "Book of Original Musical Play by George S. Kaufman") starring Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse, Janis Paige, Peter Lorre, Jules Munshin, George Tobias, and Joseph Buloff. Note that there had been a non-musical version of this story under the title "Ninotchka" in the 1930s with Greta Garbo in the lead role. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Jacques Kapralik Condition: very good. The poster had a semi-circular 3" tear (but no paper loss) in Astaire's eyelid (the area between his eye and eyebrow). There was tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There was a 1" tear in the bottom of Charisse's hair. There were pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well restored, but you can see the restoration of the tear near Astaire's eye. Learn More about condition grades
