An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) When Worlds Collide, the classic 1951 Rudolph Mate science fiction (sci-fi) doomsday fantasy thriller ("Spectacle never before filmed!"; "Most amazing story that science or fiction ever imagined!"; "Planets Destroy Earth!"; "Giant planet collides with earth!"; "Enormous earthquakes swallow whole continents!"; "Tidal waves flood entire countries!"; "Space ship leaves earth!"; "Based on the famous novel by Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie"; produced by George Pal, who did the excellent special effects; a highly literate screenplay by Sydney Boehm; this is the sort of movie that proved that science fiction movies did not have to be silly to be critically acclaimed or popular with the public; it is a pity more movies did not follow this wonderful movie's formula!) starring Barbara Rush, Richard Derr, Peter Hanson, John Hoyt, Larry Keating, Frank Cady, and Stephen Chase NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. The poster was stored in a bag with a corrugated board, and the part of the back of the poster that was touching the corrugated board has discolored (and there is light water staining at the spine part of that area), but it has little effect on the front. Also, the poster has darkened, but it mostly shows in the blank borders and the background by the credits. There is paper loss in the middle of the left blank border. There was small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and separation on parts of the folds, and someone put conservation tape on the back of all the folds. There are pinholes in the corners and some tears in the borders that have tape on the back. After a relatively simple linenbacking, the poster will look great, but bear all of the above in mind before bidding. Learn More about condition grades
