An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese Movie Poster (measures 20" x 29") (Learn More)

Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, the 1978 George Schaefer save-the-environment health-spa-town melodrama ("The story of a man of courage."; "In a time when people say there aren't any heroes anymore, there is still Steve McQueen. You cheered for him in 'The Great Escape', prayed for him in 'The Cincinnati Kid', and held your breath with him in 'Bullitt'. Now, Steve McQueen portrays the most striking hero of them all."; based on the play 'En Folkefiende' by Henrik Ibsen) starring Steve McQueen (in the title role as Dr. Thomas Stockmann), Charles Durning, Bibi Andersson, Eric Christmas, Michael Christopher, Richard A. Dysart, and Michael Higgins. Note that this film was made in 1976 and was to be released in 1977. However, the studio did not know how to market a wordy period film where McQueen was almost unrecognizable. It finally had a limited release in 1978 and was quickly withdrawn after poor box office performance.
