An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Danish Movie Poster (measures 25 1/4" x 34 1/4" [64 x 87 cm]) (Learn More)

Maskerade (literally translates to "Masquerade"), the 1934 Willi Forst Austrian romantic comedy starring Paula Wessely, Anton Walbrook (billed under his real name "Adolf Wohlbruck"), Olga Tschechowa, Hans Moser, and Walter Janssen. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that Anton Walbrook was an Austrian actor from the 1910s to the 1950s. His birth name was Adolf Anton Wilhelm Wohlbruck, and he appeared in many 1930s German movies, billed as "Adolf Wohlbruck" (including in this German movie), but he fled Nazi Germany in 1937 and settled in England, where he understandably changed his name!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: The poster was placed on to a very thin linen backing shortly after being printed. The purpose was to reinforce the poster, so that it would survive, when it was passed from theater to theater, and when it was put up on walls and taken down. Such posters can be professionally removed from the original linen and placed on to a proper linen backing. I have done this to several such posters, and they end up looking wonderful! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: fair. The poster was backed onto a thin linen . There are remnants of snipes at right and much of the text areas of the poster have been painted over. There are creases, scuff marks, and smudges throughout the poster. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects!
