Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in Italy, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare first release Italian poster from 1948, which we have never auctioned before! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had darkened somewhat. It had some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and some small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. It had pinholes around the edges. It had tax stamps in the top center that had pen marks over them. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
