An Original 1956 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47 1/2" x 63 1/4" [121 x 161 cm]) (Learn More) Il Bidone (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "The Swindle"), the 1955 Federico Fellini Italian/French family relationship con man crime melodrama (about an aging con man who meets his grown daughter, and decides to try to make a lot of money with newly met crooks, so that he can provide for her education, but when he cuts out his partners and gives all the money to his daughter, he is brutally beaten) starring Broderick Crawford, Giulietta Masina, Richard Basehart, Franco Fabrizi, and Sue Ellen Blake. Note that this movie was made in Italy in 1955 and was released all over Europe over the next few years, but it did not receive a U.S. release at all, likely because of the very depressing nature of the movie. However, after Fellini's great success with "La Dolce Vita" in 1960, this movie was given a U.S. release in 1962. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: fair to good. The poster is very fragile and has separation, tears, and some tiny paper loss on parts of many foldlines. The poster is in urgent need of expert professional restoration. But the poster is mostly "all there", and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and it will likely require little paint restoration within the image.
