A Vintage Softcover Book (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]; 72 pages) (Learn More)

Heritage: Flash Gordon, the 1972 Doug Murray & Richard Garrison illustrated book (published by Bruce Hershenson) which explores the history of science-fiction (sci-fi) hero Flash Gordon, and the many creators involved in the publication of his adventures, with a color cover by Al Williamson and Gray Morrow, a back cover by Wally Wood, and much, much more. Mr. Murray and Mr. Garrison had earlier published a volume called Heritage, and it was labeled "1a" because they had much more material that they did not include in that first book. They wanted the second volume to be more elaborate and have a color cover, but they were short on funds for printing, and they approached then comic book dealer Bruce Hershenson with an offer of giving him exclusive distribution of the book in return for him advancing them the printing cost, which he would recover first. He did so, and Garrison and Murray kindly put "Published by Bruce Hershenson" on the title page.
