Jerry Wald was a producer and screenwriter from the 1930s to the 1960s. Some of his works include: An Affair to Remember, Queen Bee, In Love and War, Key Largo, Mildred Pierce and Caged. He passed away in 1962 at the age of 50.

Some previous owner of this letter thought that the person who signed it was a bandleader named Jerry Wald, and he wrote that at the top in pencil, and of course, that could be erased.
